Madeleine Crane

Madeleine is a sport psychologist from Austria with a background in competitive climbing. She is a pioneer in climbing psychology and, along with recreational climbers, works with climbing coaches and national teams. She can’t think of a single sport whose inherent nature is mentally more challenging and fascinating.

Kaisa Soininen

Kaisa is a sport psychologist from Finland, specializing in mindfulness, habit building, and fostering commitment to act according to our values. A passionate climber herself, Kaisa fell in love with the sport when her son introduced her to bouldering—and she's been hooked ever since!

Jana Unterholzner

Jana is a sport and performance psychologist from the University of Amsterdam, originally from South Tyrol. She combines her passion for movement, nature, and psychology through climbing. Fascinated by the connection between psychology and climbing, she supports the climbing community’s mental approach with insights from scientific research.

Empowering Climbers To Reach Their Full Potential and Have More Fun

In climbing, we are bound to meet our personal limits and face challenging and stressful situations. This could be because we fear failing, falling, or embarrassing ourselves. We may hold limiting beliefs about ourselves or push ourselves too hard. Injuries, plateaus in performance, and challenging climbing relationships can limit our enjoyment of the sport - or even stop us from climbing.

We won't reach our full potential if we don‘t have the mental skills to deal with these situations.

Being passionate climbers and sports psychologists, we have been solving this problem with 1-on-1 coaching for years, but we wanted something that is affordable, yet effective, so every climber could access the evidence-based knowledge and exercises previously available only with 1-on-1 mental coaching.

That's why we created Unblocd.

What does a membership include?

Your membership gives you access to our full library of mental skills training courses, monthly live Q&A sessions with our experts, exclusive resources, and practical tools to help you climb smarter and with more confidence.

Is the membership for me?

If you’re a climber looking to boost your confidence, refine your mental game, and enjoy climbing even more, this membership is perfect for you. It’s suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced climbers, and for all climbing discipline's.

How much time do I need to dedicate to the courses?

As our courses are self-paced, the amount of time you dedicate is entirely up to you. The more you practice, the better your results will be. Even if you can only manage a couple of short sessions each week, that’s perfectly fine.

Can I preview a course before subscribing?

While we don’t offer previews of full courses, you can see an overview of each course on its course page. Our mini-courses are a great starting point to explore mental skills training and see how it can help you.

What languages are supported?

At the moment, all of our course content is available in English. If you’d like to see courses in other languages, feel free to share your feedback – we’d love to hear from you!

Are there live sessions or events included?

Yes! We host monthly live online Q&A sessions where you can get your questions answered by our experts, learn from other climbers, and stay inspired. Our partner gyms also arrange live events every now and then.

Can I have a 1-on-1 consultation with a sport psychologist?

The membership does not include 1-on-1 consultations, but we’d be happy to provide personalized support for an additional fee. If you’re interested, please contact us at info@unblocd.com. We currently offer consultations in English, German, and Finnish.

Can I access the courses on mobile?

Absolutely. Our courses are accessible on your phone, tablet, or computer, so you can train wherever and whenever it works for you.

How much does a membership cost?

We offer both monthly and annual memberships, with the annual option providing better value. If you’re a member of one of our partner gyms, you’ll also get a 50% discount on all memberships. Visit our pricing section for the latest details.

Are the payments safe?

Yes! We use Stripe, a trusted and secure payment processor, to ensure your payments are handled safely.

What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your membership anytime through your account settings. While we don’t offer refunds for the remaining time in your billing cycle, you’ll continue to have access until the end of the current period.

How does the 14-day money-back guarantee work?

If you’re not happy with your membership within the first 14 days, let us know, and we’ll give you a full refund—no questions asked. This guarantee applies to your first billing cycle only.
